Trip to SAM Singapore Art Museum

Reflection after visited the Singapore Art Museum, through this meaningful trip to SAM. I saw many artifacts that inspire my life. The role of the museum in dictating its art formation. These exhibitions feature painting, sculptures, as well as scared objects and many other beautiful "thing," to consider. The objects as art, and the wide-ranging objectives of the artists were truly amazing and meaningful. I have learnt to appreciate artwork more, and understand more about hardship beneath every sophisticated art piece. As a fine art student, this meaningful trip thought me to treasure every single piece of artwork and respect all the artists from various art backgrounds.

Think out of the box

I have learnt to think differently, unconventionally, and from a new perspective after this lesson in lateral thinking. This particular way of thinking requires us to be even more creative in our solutions due to the seemingly impossible situations. After extra exercises, I feel that I less unrestricted and more confident in thinking out of the box during the start of my creative process. That's very beneficial to my daily life and I am so glad that I have learnt extra knowledge to deal and solve problems in the future.

Zoo

During my trip to Singapore zoo, there were quite a few things I had problems with but at the same time I learned a lot as well. I think the zoo should put more effort into providing equally equipped habitats for animals, being that many of them like the white tigers, the outside areas were not as luxurious and well kept as other environments like for example home of koala. Overall, I have learnt a lot conservational and educational information, it dodoes educating people of all ages about our beloved creatures of the earth.

How does education fit with your dreams of a happy life?

Through this valuable lesson, I have learnt more ways to dream big and have a happier life. Everyone has one common goal in life to achieve true happiness. After this lesson, I believe the biggest faster holding us back from achieving our dreams is, simply ourselves. We put limitations on ourselves everyday, whether intentionally or unintentionally. And now I have learnt many ways to lead a happy life and be successful.

School Elevator Door

We have to be creative in life and never restrict ourselves with others ideas.
We all have waited school elevator before, but during that waiting time, we often stare at door instead of doing something fun or useful.
Thinking out of the box, I feel that we should add a selfie camera on top of elevator door so that we can beautifully capture our school lives through photographs.

Take A Break

Even though life is about working hard and achieving your goals, sometimes we do need to give ourselves a break and reward ourselves for the little milestones that we have achieved so that we can walk longer and further.

A beautiful tribute

This beautiful ensemble of artwork is a tribute to Sir Lee Kuan Yew. Reflecting, the artworks were really well composed and each of them managed to leave a deep impact and invoke regretful and sorrowful emotions from me. I hope to be able to invoke similar feelings through my artwork in the future as a fine arts student.

Night

The night is so silent and quiet, I guess you have already fallen asleep. My heart's beating fast, because I know I am thinking of you. The fate brought us together but not for us to be together. Maybe we just meant to be friends after all.

Reflection

While looking into a special mirror, I saw a guy who looks nothing like me. Dark hair, grey top and an abstract figure. A poor, funny, and weird man. From there, I realized that we should not judge a person by its cover as what we see may not be what defines them truly, and appearance is definitely subjective and deceiving.

Friendships

People come and go but the true ones stay.
We often meet new people in life and we always learn something valuable from each and every one of them.
I believe life is too short to be surrounding myself with negative people who always want to pull me down.
Therefore, I am so glad that I found encouraging friends who try to push me to achieve my best and they are truly there for me in good times also the bad times.
There is a reason why you meet certain people and I may not know the reason yet, but I am sure I will figure it out one day.
For now, I am just going to enjoy this fabulous friendship and do my best in school.

Raining day

The rain begins with a single drop and it is hard to see where it begins and ends. This reminds me of some incidents in life where the cause and process are not clear but only the effect can be felt.

Faded flowers

I saw those faded flowers in the early morning while I was walking home. This reminded me the fragility of life as the flowers blossom and disappears so quickly, just like the cycle of life.

Colour Chart

When I first saw this, I thought it resembles a colour chart.
Let go all the shrewdness and put in the entire missing element, rearranging them.
If we view things in different angles and directions, we might be able to achieve different perspectives in life.

How to save the earth?

Brainstorming 101 ways to save the earth was certainly not an easy task as our group started running out of ideas in the middle mark. Reflecting back, we should have taken an extra step by reaching out to sources for inspiration and ideas. In addition, we should have considered wider perspectives from corporations and organizations instead of our own personal ones only.

Drunk with words

Sometimes you need a drink, or even a few
to escape from the reality. But I understand that this temporary escape will not drive away my problems and I will still have to face them when I am sober.

Take a Journey

Instead of going to my usual way back home from school, I have decided to begin my journey home at Bras Basah MRT instead. Usually I will not pay much attention to my surroundings as I am always focused on my electronic devices. However, this school task has restricted me from using my electronic devices which makes me realised the simplicity and beauty of the MRT station. Such beautiful man made landscapes effectively stunned me into silence as the natural light illuminates the station beautifully and the water on the rooftop casts an ethereal reflection on the white walls and space.

I have not seen such unique design inside train station before. I used to think that MRT stations were boring and unimaginative as I routinely use the Bugis and Toa Payoh ones but this station has showed me otherwise. I stood there for a long moment, appreciating the water rooftop as a wave of peace and serenity washes past me. It was definitely a fruitful trip and great exploration.
